August 16, 2025 | 6:00 pm
Lensic Performing Arts Center
Santa Fe, NM
The final Saturday evening concert of the season is a true powerhouse program that features famous soloistic works by Bach and Boccherini. The evening begins with Dover Quartet cellist Camden Shaw soloing in the Italian Classical-era composer’s lyrical and lush Cello Concerto in B-flat Major followed by a performance of Bach’s immaculate Violin Concerto in A Minor, BWV 1041, with Dover Quartet first violinist Joel Link as soloist. The evening concludes with Chad Hoopes and Dover Quartet second violinist Bryan Lee playing one of the most cherished works in the entire violin repertoire: the incomparable “Bach Double.”

SANTA FE CHAMBER MUSIC FESTIVAL: Bach & Biber
August 9, 2025 | 5:00 pm
St. Francis Auditorium, New Mexico Museum of Art
Santa Fe, NM
This delightful program begins with Cleveland Orchestra Principal Oboe Frank Rosenwein making his Festival debut in Italian Baroque composer (and oboe virtuoso) Giovanni Benedetto Platti’s lively yet slightly mysterious and slightly melancholy Oboe Sonata in G Minor, which also features cellist Felix Fan and New York Philharmonic harpsichordist Paolo Bordignon. Daniel Phillips joins Bordignon for the wonderfully expressive Violin Sonata No. 3 by 17th-century Bohemian-Austrian composer Heinrich von Biber—one of history’s most influential composers for the violin—and flutist Tara Helen O’Connor features in quintessential Baroque works by Bach and Telemann.
PLATTI Sonata in G Minor for Oboe and Continuo
BACH Sonata “Sopr’il Soggetto Reale” for Flute, Violin, and Continuo from A Musical Offering, BWV 1079
TELEMANN Quartet in G Major from Tafelmusik, TWV 43:G2

Bach’s Coffee Cantata at Collectivo
Fashions come and go, but some things never change: join members of the MSO, Music Director Ken-David Masur, and special guests for Bach's delightfully witty — and highly caffeinated — homage to the delights of the coffee house. Taking a shot at the coffee craze that swept through Leipzig in the 18th century, Bach's "Coffee Cantata" tells the story of Schlendrian, a father at his wit's end, as he tries desperately to reason with his coffee-addled daughter, Lieschen.
